Not being sent to Bryant just yet. Being held on a motion to reconsider.

Can we create a filter that replaces "religious freedom bill" and other versions of it with "LGBT Discrimination Legalization Act"?

They do other things. The federal "religious freedom bill" has had multiple cases applying it at the Supreme Court.

Going to be a test to see whether Bryant believes more strongly in his religion or the power of the almighty corporate dollar. As he is a politically well-connected American, I suspect the latter, but he could always pleasantly surprise me.

This bill is unique in that it targets LGBT people specifically and allows for blanket discrimination.

There's no necessity for a religious freedom bill. We've had a religious freedom bill since the ratification of our Bill of Rights December 10, 1791.

You guys cheated. We voted for traditional marriage state by state (even California). We used the democratic processes to protect the definition of marriage. You guys used oligarchs in black robes. This fight isn't over by a long shot. Get ready for a president Cruz and a conservative replacement to Scaila. Restoring the rights of the states to decide laws regarding social issues (life, marriage, religious liberty). The rainbow jihad is going for revenge wanting to directly attack the economic and civil liberties of people of religious conscience. You can't say that that's not happening.

So to protect religious people, LGBT people shouldn't have...you know...any rights?

Anyone who says rainbow Jihad merits no respect. Yes, we can say it's not happening because it's not. You bigots have lost. Find another group to hate on in the name of "Christianity." And you wonder why more and more people are turning away from the church. You're a perfect reason why. You're delusional especially thinking Ted Cruz will be President lmao. Reality check: marriage equality isn't going to be overturned, nor is Roe vs. Wade, for that matter.

What exactly is "traditional marriage?" Furthermore, when do we get to vote on your rights? When do we get to vote on a constitutional amendment banning divorce? When do we get to vote on a constitutional amendment banning sterile and imfertile couples as well as the elderly from marrying since they are unable to "procreate?" Keep your Bible out of people's lives who don't believe the fairy tale that you do.

I have to be honest, I doubt I'm on board with the rest of your political agenda, but I really like the term oligarchs in black robes and rainbow jihad. There has always been something oligarchical and intolerant about the gay movement. Then again, Goldman Sachs is the leading corporate ally of the Human Rights Campaign...

When you talk about 'fairy tales', may I remind you that you're the one who, in the other thread, argued that purpose of Christianity was in fact to act out some bizarro version of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

Rainbow jihad? Are you a Bryan Fischer listener?

Sorry to disappoint you but your vote does not apply to civil rights.

I'm a Christian conservative, and I'm going to force my beliefs on you by legislation.

Upon forcing said beliefs, I should also tell you how persecuted us Christians are in America.

There are tens of millions of Republicans, I am not responsible for the actions of all of them because of how I register.  Doesn't matter who's in charge of your state, they've largely all sucked.  Bud.

EDIT: Sorry to be rude, but it's ridiculous to constantly hold all Republicans or all Democrats responsible for the actions of every other member of that party.  We live in a two-party system that isn't going anywhere, and if you want to try to influence the discourse of one of the parties for the better, you have to pick one.  Republicans who support gay rights shouldn't be held accountable for those who discriminate against LGBT people any more than Democrats who are pro-life should be lumped in with some liberals who want abortion on demand right up until hours before giving birth (or in an extremely rare case, that sick doctor who literally killed the baby after it was born in an "abortion").  Both simply picked a party, knowing they didn't agree with either one 100% (no thinking person should).

So it's the standard "Religion-based organizations are allowed to fire or refuse to hire LGBT+ people" law or does it go deeper than that.

It doesn't even go into that. But businesses probably don't have to participate in gay marriages or any gay agenda. Presumably, you can refuse to adorn a cake with pro-gay marriage slogans, but you would still have to sell a normal cake to them.

This is probably very distressing to the interests in our society that want to both compel compliance with and forced participation in their cultural agenda.
