Fits right in with the fine political tradition of Mississippi, doesn't it?

The legislation is being pushed by your party, bud.

There are tens of millions of Republicans, I am not responsible for the actions of all of them because of how I register.  Doesn't matter who's in charge of your state, they've largely all sucked.  Bud.

EDIT: Sorry to be rude, but it's ridiculous to constantly hold all Republicans or all Democrats responsible for the actions of every other member of that party.  We live in a two-party system that isn't going anywhere, and if you want to try to influence the discourse of one of the parties for the better, you have to pick one.  Republicans who support gay rights shouldn't be held accountable for those who discriminate against LGBT people any more than Democrats who are pro-life should be lumped in with some liberals who want abortion on demand right up until hours before giving birth (or in an extremely rare case, that sick doctor who literally killed the baby after it was born in an "abortion").  Both simply picked a party, knowing they didn't agree with either one 100% (no thinking person should).

That's unacceptable and dickish. The last thing we need is for the rest of America to turn their backs on us.

The art museum in Jackson had to cancel some big event there because the artist is a government employee in New York and has been forbidden to travel here. I can assure you the art museum and its patrons aren't discriminating against gays.

On the other hand, the people who support this law are proud that Yankee liberals aren't coming down here. These gotcha travel bans are having the opposite intended effect.

You have to be sympathetic to how similar this would sound to the debates of the 1960s if we swapped out some words ... That's what's unacceptable.
