I love the Sun, but I don't like being hot. While I would like to visit Hawaii, I'd prefer to live in Alaska. Less crowded, more "woodsy", it's basically the last place to be a pioneer.

Hawaii. Ironically enough, I'd prefer a hot day (provided nights are cool enough), but I could never deal with a midnight sun. I'm a night person all the way, but I also don't like the cold unless it's my bedroom when I'm going to bed (and that's why we have air conditioning). Overall, I'd prefer to have something closer to a 12 hour day and a 12 hour night all year round. Hawaii doesn't have that, but it's substantially closer to that than Alaska or most of the remaining US.

As far as summer goes though, Sacramento is the best. It's nice and hot at anywhere from 90-100ºF on a normal summer day. It's also a dry heat, so you get no humidity or otherwise nasty stickiness. However, you get the most perfect low temperatures overnight and into the morning at any where from 55-60ºF (a heat wave might be 5-10ºF higher at most for both day and night, which is where the AC comes into play).

This is a legitimately tough choice for me. I can't decide.

They are the only two states I've not been in. Therefore I have no personal preference.

Hawaii, it's where my family is.  But if I got to travel to one for vacation I'd probably pick Alaska since I've never been there.

Alaska is great, and I definitely want to visit it again, but I have to go with Hawaii.
