Jerry Brown ran against Bill Clinton in 1992.  There was a lot of animosity between the two, almost entirely started by Jerry Brown, who ran a negative campaign against Clinton accusing him and his wife of being corrupt liars.  Bill typically responded that Jerry Brown was a sad old man who should be ashamed of himself.

Meanwhile Sanders is just the kind of crazy diamond Brown loves.  $15/hr minimum wage nationwide?  Damn the torpedoes (or deflationary economic consequences), Brown's already there.

But, Brown's not an idiot, he knows his state is last and probably won't make a difference in the race unless Bernie wins 2-1 or something.  And he probably doesn't want to end up on Bill Clinton's bad side with Bill in the white house again.

So, who does old moonbeam endorse?

I think California is coming late enough to the party that much will depend on the actions taken as a result of the FBI investigation. Governor Brown may very well decide to stay out of the mix. In any case, the next few weeks will prove to be very interesting.

He probably won't endorse anyone. If anyone, Sanders.

Fellow flat-taxer Ted Cruz, obviously.

His national ambitions are gone and he's the old guy on his way out, with 2014 being  a swan-song regarding anything in the spotlight.

Between that and CA being late, he has little reason to endorse anyone.

Two weeks to the crucial California primary, he'll stay out of it. However, if Clinton is indicted, he may be a dark horse to be the 2016 nominee.

As a California Democrat, I feel he'd back Clinton. Nearly all Democratic office-holders save for the progressive activists have endorsed her.

1970s Jerry Brown would be all over Bernie, but 21st century Jerry Brown is Mr Pragmatic. He may not like the  Clintons  personally but today he is more alligned with Hillary. I suspect he won't endorse anyone until after Clinton secures nomination.  Which is at least a little win for Bernie.

Yeah, he's no longer a rebel. He's just been a generic Democrat since he was elected AG, if not earlier. He won't endorse anyone but he'll probably vote for Hillary.
