The Democratic and Republican Parties both go through a period of chaos as Hillary Clinton is indicted over the email scandal during her term as Secretary of State. John Kerry is chosen as the Democrats' Plan B over Bernie Sanders. On the Republican side, the party chooses Mitt Romney after seeing how terrible Donald Trump would be as the nominee. Who wins in a Kerry vs. Romney match-up?

If my calculations are correct, it would look like 2012, but with Romney also winning Virginia and Florida.

Low turnout election with both candidates trying to pander as much as possible to the populist vote. A third party candidate, maybe John McAfee, might get some votes from pissed off anti-establishmentarians. This election is Romney's to win or lose, he needs to work at GOTV while attacking Kerry on the iran deal and fighting off allegations of being a panderer and flip flopper. Maybe he runs as a more moderate candidate, learning from his mistake in 2012 of pandering to the tea party. I'd say a Tilt R or Lean R election
