Oddly I just stumbled upon a video of his on YT last night.  He's probably a bit of an ass, but he was certainly light years better than the person he was arguing with.  I think that's the key.  If you're an ass and have questionable positions, it's best to argue with angry dumb people than calm smart people.  It makes you look so much better.
