As far as I know, there are only a handful of people here that speak and/or understand Russian. I only responded in kind because I didn't want him to misinterpret my responses. I don't think that ended up making a difference

Some do, although we never used them at the University. I have some "inverted" books in Arabic, though.

Frankly, I am marginally surprised he would be sober enough to write anything in any language: most males there are alcoholic wrecks by the age of 25 at the latest.
