Or at least that's what they are saying now:

Hopefully that will change by November, but I can still see 10-15% or so abstaining. Do we have any statistics on how Clinton supporters voted in 2008?

And 50% of Hillary's voters in Indiana and North Carolina would never support Obama in 2008.
We all know how it ended.

Hillary supporters said the same thing in spring of 2008 of Obama. The election outcome is well known....

Sanders isn't a Democrat and a good 25% of his supporters probably aren't either. They wouldn't vote for any candidate besides Sanders, and all their leaving does is reset the equilibrium.

Most, but not all, of them will come home.  The same is true for Republicans who say they won't vote for whomever.

Enough of them will come home to Hillary that it won't be much of a concern after the election. As I recall, exit polls showed Obama getting 83% of Hillary supporters in 2008, and he still won by 7.2%.

Just like 21% of Hillary supporters proclaimed they won't vote for Obama back in July 2008.

It's a normal talk during a hot primary season. They will largely come around.

But in all fairness, many of Sanders' supporters aren't registered Democrats, so why would they feel loyal to the nominee?

Most of them are Democrats, they just don't like labels, so they choose "independent" to feel better about that despite voting exactly the same way.

Many yes, but there is still a segment I was refereeing to.

Personally, while a strong Sanders supporter (and someone who considers himself an independent party-wise), I would still vote for Hillary come November, because, well, whatever my misgivings about her are, I'm just not keen on helping electing a Republican President just because my preferred candidate did not prevail.

As a Polish citizen, I know a lot about voting for a "lesser evil" Wink

If Hillary goes even more scorched earth, and she and her husband keep saying things like that they feel sorry for young people for believing Bernie and that Bernie supporters are like the Tea Party, that will go up.

A substantial fraction of Sanders supporters are Conservadems and mad-at-the-world independents who never supported Obama or Clinton in the first place.

This. I bet a good number of them would vote for TRUMP in the general even if Sanders had dropped out and endorsed Clinton weeks ago.

Sanders' supporters in Wisconsin were pretty worthless in the Supreme Court race.

Young people tend to be far more idealistic than the geriatrics supporting clinton in 2008. I can bet, with  full certainty, that the Sanders 2016 bus will have more defectors than Hillary in 08.

For a poll taken now, 25% does not surprise me.
It will probably be less than that come November (maybe around 10%).

But I can say with almost complete certainty .... Hillary my have some defectors in November, but Drumpf will have a 2-to-3 times worse defection rate.

County results say otherwise.

Most PUMAs were Democrats while a large portion of Sanders are independents and not inclined to support any other Democrat but him. I can't see any of these Indies turning out for Hillary in the end.
