City Controller Alan Hevesi wins the Democratic mayoral nomination against Mark Green, Fernando Ferrer and Peter Vallone. Hevesi faces off against wealthy billionaire Michael Bloomberg. The election changes after the 9/11 attacks. Who wins this mayoral election?

Bloomberg: 53.1%
Hevesi: 44.4%

Despite my PM score, I HATE Bloomberg, but only someone like William Bratton could have beaten him after 9/11.

Why not Hevesi? In my opinion, Hevesi would have matched well with Bloomberg with Jewish voters. He comes from Forest Hills, Queens, a Jewish enclave. He would have done well with the white ethnics.

If Hevesi had won, he may have lost to a well financed Republican in '05 if NYC had not been developed well after 9/11.
