Stockman and Hostettler said no, I guess.

By the way, in my original draft of that Kerry '04 timeline (now being massively reworked), I had Miller as the 2020 Constitution Party nominee.

Miller MIGHT get double digits in Alaska.

There are a lot of Republicans who don't like the Murkowskis in Alaska.  Palin's exiting the Governorship, then making a general fool of herself, has helped Lisa Murkowski rebound, but there are lots of rank and file Republicans who see Murkowski as someone who would not accept the verdict of the primary voters as final.  She's a case of rank nepotism; her appointment is, in no small way, a major factor in Gov. Daddy (Frank Murkowski) being dumped in 2006 by Palin.  I would not be surprised if Miller gets 10% of Alaska's vote, and before you say I'm being ridiculous, Libertarian Ed Clark got 11.7% of the vote in Alaska in 1980.

Lisa Murkowski should announce a write-in candidacy, just for the lulz.

There's some speculation that Miller would be a placeholder and cede the ticket later on if Trump is the nominee.

Eh, I like Miller, but I guess he waited to do this now because Trump might not win.

I could see that. It just depends on what THE DONALD does.

Isn't the state party equivalent to the Constitution Party in Alaska the Alaskan Independence Party?

There is now an Alaska Constitution Party.   Its founder J.R. Myers is also running for the Constitution Party presidential nomination.

Joe Miller would be an excellent choice.  Good family man and a patriot.

I'd probably vote for him over Trump if the Constitution Party makes it back on the ballot here.

I don't know that the Constitution Party would actually agree to nominate Donald Trump. Especially since Ted Cruz lines up with them much much better. Then again, they were set up for Pat Buchanan and they did nominate a former Democrat last time. I dunno. Seems more likely that rather than running third party, Trump just endorses Joe Miller if Cruz ends up taking the nomination. Miller ends up getting 10% in Alaska. Maybe 5% everywhere else, depending on how much Trump campaigns.

Here's a fun quote:

I'd bet that Trump would endorse Miller if he loses the Republican nomination unless Trump takes over the ticket with Miller's blessings.
