Given that Clinton uses noise machines directed at the press to prevent them from covering her private fundraisers, what could she possibly be saying that warrants such a lack of transparency?

Probably some real talk about her primary opponent (which most of us are already thinking) or the GOP that wouldn't play too well in public.  Grin

Good to see the money is being dispersed to the DNC and some state parties as well as the Clinton campaign, apparently.  Is Bernie doing the same thing with all his fundraising hauls?

Nothing says "most transparent public official in modern times" like using a literal white noise machine to keep people from hearing what you're really saying.

Who knows, but if people think she is on some sort of stage auctioning off favors / appointed offices, then they need to rethink their logic.

She probably wants to talk more candidly about certain things and what she has to say would probably be used to smear her if it got out. It's not nefarious, and contrary to what some seem to think, she has every right to have private conversations/speeches. Sanders & other politicians as well.

Agreed.

We simply live in an age where the media wants 24hr access to these peoples lives.

The media brought this on themselves by trying to eavesdrop on her private fundraisers.
The woman has a right to her damn privacy.  I don't see anyone trying to eavesdrop on Ted Cruz's fundraisers.

Maybe people deserve to know what candidates really say behind close doors without having to pay thousands of dollars. This isn't a good move for Clinton given her recent history involving the issue with Wall St. speech transcripts.

"Well, there are 47% of the people who will vote for Senator Sanders no matter what. All right? There are 47% who are with him. Who are dependent upon government, who believe that– that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they’re entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you name it. But that’s– it’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for Senator Sanders no matter what. And– and so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Maybe the people deserve to know whether TRUMP has been candid regarding the size of his manhood.

Just between you and me, I love Goldman Sachs.  Where else can someone get paid 225,000 dollars to give a 30 minute speech?  (followed by loud laughter)

On a more serious note, after what happened to Obama with "bitter" and to Romney with 47% is anyone seriously blaming Clinton for wanting to keep her fundraisers private?
And of course it has been reported a myriad times what kind of discussions take place in that kind of events but I guess feigning ignorance and leaving innuendo is more sexy.

Clinton didn't invent big ticket fundraisers, they have existed for years. If you want to know what goes on in these fundraisers, I'll tell you. It's nothing but a bunch of partisan red meat that is a lot more amplified than what you'll hear on the campaign trail. I've been inside paid fundraisers and they aren't really any sort of secret society full of Illuminati code talk or anything like that. The paranoia is way overblown.

How about politicians stop saying one thing behind closed doors and another to the public, instead?

Why would anyone believe in this day and age of sophisticated technology that anything or any meeting is ever going to remain strictly confidential anyway?

Because that's exactly what all other people do in their everyday lives, right?

It's not everyday life though, it's a f**king presidential campaign. The issues you discuss at a fundraiser are just the same that voters will use as a basis for choosing the next President.

Exactly. So what's that special thing that makes you want so badly to hear what's being talked in a fundraiser?

People are assuming that are some dramatic policies difference discussed in private fundraisers, when that is simply not the case. I have done private events more than once, so I know what goes on.

Surely you can't be that stupid, so I have to conclude that you're being ridiculously disingenuous.

I think the idea that a lot of these people have is that Hillary Clinton is taking bribes at the these fundraisers.

It seems to me that you're the disingenuous one. You believe obviously that in those kind of meetings Clinton conspires with the wealthy donors present to dupe the people into voting her and then enforce policies that reward the latter. And you're just frustrated because there isn't a way for that incriminating stuff to come out and help your candidate.
Alas, the truth is much more mundane. I suggest you read Game Change. It contains an interesting anecdote about a 2008 fundraiser with Bill Clinton at the aftermath of Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Obama.
