Opinion of Moldova?

I've been talking about Moldovan politics a lot with a friend of mine from there recently. The poorest country in Europe, it's also one of the few "buffer" states remaining between the EU/NATO and Russia. Not to mention with its two autonomy movements, wild swings in ruling ideology, and almost comic levels of corruption, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the focus of more of the world's attention in the coming years.

I thought Kosova was Europe's poorest country? Nonetheless, don't know much about Moldova, but voted FC.

Seems like a bad place to live. And like many former USSR countries, I think it's a shame that it's stuck in Russia's orbit.
