I think DAVE stands for Doing A Very Excellent.  So it's actually an adjective rather than a noun.  Like:

Indeed. Moderators are for enforcing the rules, so they must be impeccable in following them, otherwise it would be just hypocritical, wouldn't it? Tender is not the first mod to be sacked or forced to resign for conduct unbecoming and that shows the system works.

I also don't agree that mods should be held to higher standards. That is elitist Bull sh**t. They are just like everyone else. No difference.
