This whole thing sounds cringeworthy. Honestly? Clinton should stop trying to pander to millennials.

She took a break from that the other week and it didn't go over so well.

Maybe she should try earnestly selling herself to them rather than pandering with hopeless attempts at humor or pop culture references

Obviously extremely scripted, even down to the "I don't like jokes like that."  Reads like something out of a bad episode of The Daily Show where Jon Stewart is "clueless white guy" and accidentally says offensive things while Wyatt Cenac winces or something like that.

It's not funny, but it's not racist either.  The point of the joke was "Is Bill de Blasio a racist?  NO just kidding, politicians and black people have completely different meanings for that word."

This kind of uncomfortable humor is only useful when it is used to challenge our prejudices or make us take a hard look at ourselves and laugh cathartically a la Dave Chappelle.

This would be way funnier if De Blasio had like a history of saying unintentionally racist things and he was lampooning himself.  This was totally inappropriate/oblique at a Hillary Clinton campaign stop aimed at entertaining.

They should immediately fire whatever moronic intern wrote this joke.  Actually, it was probably DeBlasio who came up with the idea.  DeBlasio is like if Big Bird and Burt had a baby and it grew up to be some annoying dope who is constantly trying to shore up his social justice bona fides.

This. Bernie Sanders is a 70-something year old white man from one of the whitest states in America. He is not hip. He will never be hip. But he is authentic.

Most young people want authenticity, not some fake "hipness". The young people who work in places like Wall Street, who get called "tools", probably don't, but they're already voting Hillary.

She didn't come up with that part. If anything, she tried to salvage it.

I have never, ever heard of "CP time' before. Wouldn't have known that it meant anything else if it wasn't for all this outrage.

Maybe De Blasio felt comfortable with it because of his family?

You realize the "salvaging" thing was part of the bit right? This was a rehearsed thing, down to each line.

I think de Blasio should protect his political career by specifying that he was actually delayed because of his daily "child porn time."

At the end of the day it was just an unfunny joke. The more annoying thing is the bernie bros that label black voters as low info rushing in and acting offended for them. Who cares?

Hillary is continuing to go for the "hard working white people" vote. Horrible person.

You need therapy.

Just like in 2008 they are putting their foots in their mouth. Only Hillary could lose a 60 point national lead. I kind of feel bad for some Clinton voters with all these gaffes.

What if Trump had said it?  What would the reaction have been?  Be honest

For one thing, Bill deBlasio said it, not Hillary. But if something similar happened at a Trump event, it'd certainly be bigger.

I really find it hard to envision Hillary telling a funny joke be it racist or totally PC.  Well, I suppose her comments about wiping her server with a cloth were mildly humorous.

Interestingly, I can imagine Sanders being LESS funny behind closed doors and Hillary, freed from her fake-ass political persona, way MORE sarcastic/wryly humorous as the HBIC

I miss Michael Bloomberg so much. De Blasio has been below average.

It was a skit, so she knew what he would say ahead of time.
