Apparently Sanders had over 27,000 people tonight in Washington Square. If this is a preview of expected turnout for Prospect Park, we may be looking at one of the biggest campaign rallies of all time on Sunday.

Possibly, but for future reference if the organisers claim a certain number were at a rally it's usually wise to at least halve their bullshit estimate FTR.

Funny you should say that.  I was walking by one of the barricades today and the police officer said there were 13,000 people at the rally.

Not sure how the officer would know that, the NYPD specifically said it would not verify the number of attendees.

Not sure when the rally started.  I overheard the number at around 7:30pm or so.  Maybe they stopped counting after a certain point.  It's possible it grew from 13,000

The area was swarming with Bernie pins

Police estimates are also bullshit. People are really, really bad at estimating crowd size. Averaging the two gets you 20,000 which seems plausible enough.

I guess if its a big rally we can expect a 20 or 30 point Sanders win in New York? That sure would help him erase Clinton''s delegate lead. I mean packed rally after packed rally should suggest this right ? or at least that is the narrative.

Interestingly enough the reporters at those rallies who talk with the attendees say that many of them are registered independents who won't be able to vote for Sanders.

I wonder how many of these people the NY polls are catching.

Everyone of them - Actual figure is Hillary 83%, Sanders 17%

Uh... no. Barack Obama got rallies of 100,000 in 08. This isn't that huge

For NY specifically I had seen something about how Obama's crowd size was 20,000, so adjusting for Bernieflation the Prospect Park one should be bigger than Obama's NY crowds.
