Clinton VP news LATEST: Podesta now calling the losers to tell them its not them

I am not entirely sold on this but, FWIW, from a number of news sources tonight:

However, if true, I think we can safely take Christie out, so it would be between Gingrich and Pence.

Sounds like a decision may have been made, and they're waiting for the best time to announce. Clinton did spend all day on Saturday at her DC home with members of her vetting team. With Clinton campaigning with Kaine on Thursday, they may have let him know ahead of time.

IF the convention can tolerate Flynn or McCrystal, it could turn out really well. A republican (Trump) and a Democrat (Flynn or McCrystal) seeking to work together to fix the country could really seem appealing to the average swing voter. If I wasn't informed on Trump's political views that well, it would seem pretty appealing to me. (Of course, I'm informed, and I'm #NEVERTRUMP through and through.) Also, the military is much more popular than Trump, so picking someone from it might have the after effect of bumping up his favorability a few points, which would help. Ultimately I think fear of Hillary will keep up turnout among the republican base regardless of the VP Pick.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he came up with a total wildcard, someone not or just barely mentioned. Jan Brewer, Pete Ricketts, Matt Mead, John Thune, Scott Walker, Tim Scott, Kelly Ayotte or a little known congressman/congresswoman for example. Who knows? It’s Trump.

Minor nitpicking, but theres NO WAY he picks Pete Ricketts. I know he gave in and endorsed trump, but with a sister working for the Hillary campaign and a mom who set up a Super Pac in order to defeat trump most definitely rules him out.
