Unless Trump is playing some sort of 3 dimensional chess and Pence is just a smokescreen for a more out of the box pick.
Or he is playing PredictIt and is going to buy a ton of Pence No shares through shells.

Vilsack #2 on PredictIt, still don`t know where the hype is coming from...

My guess - just a smokescreen for Kaine.

Clinton probably wanted to signal to Warren, as early as possible, that she will not be picked, to avoid disappointment later.  Vilsack is just a placeholder, to formally have two picks!

Wait, what?  Why would she engage in bizarre media engineering to do this and not just tell Warren directly?  And wasn't this being accomplished by the significant buzz over Perez the previous news cycle anyway?

From my vantage point, Vilsack as her second pick is a vomitrocious omen, especially when Kaine is the #1.

What I meant is "signal to Warren and the Sanders/Warren supporters".....   I would imagine that Warren has already been told directly by Clinton. This is about managing expectations.

No, VP. He can't be at Defense unless the law is changed (active duty until 2014).

Gingrich says he told Trump he can have "two pirates” on the ticket or one pirate and one relatively normal quite stable person.

TRUMP in an interview now said he does not want an attack dog. So likely Pence; Fallin and Flynn as wildcards.

I wonder if Hillary's decision will be a reaction to trump's decision. If I were her, I would be a lot more ok with Kaine going up against a guy like Pence. If trump had picked someone firey (Christie, Gingrich), I would think she would have to fight fire with fire (Warren, Sanders (I know she wouldn't pick him but someone to do what he does)). Kaine would have a challenge going up against a strong and smart personality. But if trump is going to pick a relative snoozefest for vp, then she can get away with her snoozefest that she likes.

Trump was always going to pick a low key candidate. It's Trump at the top of the ticket, I don't think he wanted anybody to steal even an ounce of the spotlight

Same with Hil. No way she ever picks Bernie or Elizabeth. This is Hillary's moment and her moment only.

The call has been made and Pence has accepted, according to RTV6, a local Indy channel affiliated with ABC:

He needs a while for his good brain to come up with an explanation how a couple of concealed firearms in the crowd would have saved everyone from an onrushing truck.

Also just read on DKE, that Pence has yet to withdraw......

This plus the Tebow thing I am really thinking we could be really off on what were guessing, this campaign is a dumpster fire.

Pence could still drop out tomorrow and be officially chosen this weekend, from what I have heard he has both been offed and accepted to be Trumps running mate.

The GOP will doubtless try to blame it on Hillary. They'll probably even claim she pulled the trigger.

Supposedly someone tweeted that Pence could get put back on the ballot at Indiana's GOP convention if he leaves the Gov race and is not selected as Trump's VP. However that would be a tall order since some Hoosier Republicans want to replace him
