So I’ve been thinking that, since there’s a good chance that many of the more high profile VP possibilities would refuse to run on a ticket with Trump, he might end up going to the House for his running mate.  So maybe it’s worth mentioning that, last month at CPAC, Marsha Blackburn sounded very open to running on a ticket with Trump:

I guess this happened a few weeks ago, but Jeff Sessions was asked if he’d be willing to run on a ticket with Trump.  He played down the prospect, but didn’t say anything that would rule it out:

Again, the media is terrible at this.  Politico calls this a “rejection” by Kaine of the VP chatter surrounding him, but it seems like anything but:

“I love my job and I’m not looking for another one.”  “I have a great feeling that…I’m going to be sitting with the other senators.”

That sounds like a prediction, not a promise.  He is absolutely not ruling out the possibility that he’ll be vice president.  Why can’t the media just ask a direct question like “If Hillary Clinton offered to make her your running mate, would you accept?” or “If Hillary Clinton wants to put you on her short list, would you participate in the vetting process?”?

It's probably going to be somebody who endorsed Trump. So either Palin, Christie, or Carson. Anybody else?

Trump/Gingrich would be a very entertaining ticket, as would Trump/Christie.

One way to find out if Trump is as incompetent as some say he is, is if he picks Mary Fallin or Jeff Sessions. Fallin has run the state into the ground and Sessions is a total mushmouth.

All that being said, I think Scott Brown is probably the best potential choice among those who would realistically do it.

Nobody with an electoral future in the Republican party will want to be associated with TRUMP.

Carson ran a pyramid scheme and I doubt he is ever running for President again or any office after this cycle so he could be a pick

A thought occured to me the other day. If a majority of the delegates are Cruz delegates, even if pledged to Trump, would they really vote to nominate a pro-choice Vice President?

On that thought, what's to stop a Cruz-majority delegation from choosing Cruz for VP?

Newt Gingrich, Tim Pawlenty, Chris Christie, Scott Brown, and Tim Scott. Wow.

That's an impressively diverse group of people. Has anyone heard any rumors about Daniels or Pawlenry?

I actually think Gingrich could be a great choice for Trump.  He would be able to coach Trump on policy, and also legitimize him to many conservative and establishment skeptics.  I mean, yeah, he has skeletons in his closet, but I dont think they'd come up too often.

Gingrich's only real weakness is that he's an old, white man.

Lindsey Graham has described choosing to be Trump's VP as liken to "Buying a ticket on the Titanic."

In short, nobody with a sound mind or an interest in their electoral future is going to agree to it. Gingrich has neither, so he'd be my best bet.

Gingrich's only real weakness is that he's an old, white man.

The 2012 race showed that any respect or legitimacy that Gingrich has from the establishment evaporated sometime in the last decade. He's now a Sunday Morning talking head who is able to sound smart for short periods of time before talking about moon bases or having poor children do janitorial work in schools.

He does nothing for a Trump ticket, certainly not electorally, and if he's chosen it'll be because he was the biggest name willing to say yes.

Why would they tie Cruz to the Trumptanic? They don't want their man to go down with the ship!

They'd be more likely to tie on a poison pill VP nominee to Trump.
