She should pick a dark horse: Former Indiana Rep. Tim Roemer. He opposed NAFTA.

I like Roemer. I was on a basketball team with his nephew Tongue

I'll be honest, Kaine, Booker, and Vilsack are all terrible choices.

Booker would be a good choice. He voluntarily lived in a housing project in the worst part of Newark when he was on the council, which is a good story to tell about commitment to public service.

Maybe, maybe. I like Roemer. Can someone tell me here, what they have against Tom Vilsack? The man is a capable manager.

He would also ignite the Obama coalition.

He would ignite the Obama coalition, but with all of the tensions in our country, I don't know if America will want a African American vice president. Some people have "Obama fatigue".

"Obama fatigue" meanwhile his approval ratings are rising.

I honestly can't see Kaine or Vilsack. Too many leaks - and it wouldn't look good to have POTUS and the candidate's husband come out for someone ahead of time - looks weak.

I think it's more progressive or from the Obama coalition. Warren, Perez, Becerra, Booker, Brown, etc...

Standing by my prediction of Warren. I can survive a little egg on my face if I'm wrong.

Those people wouldn't have voted for Clinton anyways Tongue

I'm still holding out hope for a shock Warren or Brown, and will continue to do so until the moment Kaine/Vilsack/Booker steps onto the stage/flashes across the news media tomorrow.

Hopefully next he will "voluntarily live" with some middle-aged guy who got laid off or lost his entire pension in the aftermath of the 07-08 financial crisis.

CNN: Kaine and Vilsack are the finalists, Booker/Perez nominally in the hunt but unlikely re inexperience.

No, Dick Fuld did just fine - he walked away from that job with $500+ million.  I heard he somehow got rehired by someone recently, too - I forget whom.

See, comments like these make your obsession with "soothing midwesterners" and "middle-American values" seem less like an endearing quirk.

I really doubt that Vilsack (out of all people) is seriously in the running. Probably just some joke that people "close to the Clinton campaign" made just to mess with the media/politicos. Just like the one general that was mentioned while Trump was considering Flynn. Her shortlist is probably Warren/Perez/Kaine/Booker/Castro.

Kaine or Vilsack?

OK, that makes perfect sense. Either of them would make Hillary look fascinating by pure contrast.

Clinton could still go to left field. The amount of confusion and walking back of names, most notably Crist and Booker's chances seem to imply the campaign is doing a great job of obfuscating the pick.
