Yeah, it's Florida, my home state. It's generally nice if you stay out of the redneck parts like the Panhandle and North Florida, but otherwise it's nice.

Miami is really nice.

The redneck parts are okay. South Florida sucks.

I don't like sand (give me an Olympic sized swimming pool any day), I've never been into theme parks, and while old people are OK I don't think I'd want to be around so many of them.

While I don't know if it's ever been rigorously studied and/or proven that Florida has more "weird" crimes than other states but there does seem to be truth behind the stereotype.

If I could somehow visit kitschy old Florida (like 50s or space age 60s) I do it, but I think most of that has been torn down for condos at this point.

Used to live in Orlando. I loved it. Doesn't deserve the bad reputation it gets. Plus, the cheapest cocaine this side of the Mississippi. FS

Weirdly enough the panhandle (and maybe a bit of NE Florida) is the only part of Florida I've been.

Horrible weather, horrible drivers (seriously, old people from the NE, tourists and red necks...it's like the worst possible combination).  The things that make it "special" don't attract me;beaches, the Miami "scene", tourist attractions aimed at families.  A whole bunch of bad, barely any good, HP.

That would heavily depend on a particular part of the state, wouldn't it?

Meh, I don't really like it much myself. I certainly don't plan on living out the rest of my days here. Too much confederatey-stuff in my area. Every day I go outside there is a giant confederate flag in my field of vision from slightly down the road.

Wow, the hatred of Jews and Cubans (South Florida) are strong here.

From what I've read, Southern Florida is much more acceptable to me politically, but at the same time is freaking unlivable.

Though not as much as Jacksonville.
