South Korea had their legislative elections a few days back now, and the real messy gridlock and defections in Parliament are sure to begin. The Minjoo party won a plurality of seats, yet came in third with the list vote.

We also have the Presidential elections in 2017; will Moon Jae-in keep his lead and win? Will Ban Ki-moon run? Those are just some of the questions yet to be answered.

The Minjoo party won a plurality of seats, yet came in third with the popular vote, despite the quasi-proportional system.

No. They came 3rd in the list vote, that's not the same thing.

I really hope the last elections are an indication that the left will finally get its act together. South Korean politics have been rather depressing so far.
