So I feel like putting Barack Obama against other presidents. First, I'll do the presidents that are sorted as worse than him (Besides, starting at the top with Obama vs. Lincoln is an unfair contest with an obvious outcome for sane people with an understanding of history. Same with starting at the bottom with Buchanan).

Obama is #17, and Cleveland is #18, but let's be exciting and start with the president ranked #20, none other than William J. Clinton. Cleveland will be next, then McKinley, then the row will go down until we get to George W. Bush, who is #34*, then we will jump to the presidents who are ranked higher than him, which starts with #16, James Monroe.

Obama vs. Bill Clinton, who was better?

*Because the ones below Bush are easy wins for Obama.

So people are voting against a budget surplus and relative peacetime?

This isn't even a fair comparison...
I'd be disappointed if Obama lost any of these.

Both are disappointing New Democrats, but let's see:

First Two Years: +6 Clinton (Hillarycare, VAWA,etc....Obamacare looks toothless and the stimulus didn't do enough)

Post-House Loss: +1 Obama (Both compromised to hell and back where they really shouldn't have, but the edge goes to Obama just because Clinton signed the Welfare Act)

Lame-Ducked: +6 Obama (Clinton didn't do much after Lewinsky...besides Kosovo, Obama tried to do things on mass shootings, the Cuba Embargo was lifted, the Iran Deal was made)

So I guess Obama very narrowly.

Clinton was a HP(2/10) who was a FF(9/10) at governing. Obama's a meh person(4/10) who's mediocre at governing(4/10).

Clinton, though he is most certainly a rapist.

Clinton's era was certainly more prosperous, but I think that has more to do with broad economic trends than with legislation or presidential leadership. Obama accomplished far more legislatively, but that probably has as much to do with the relatively unified Democratic conference during Obama's first two years.

In foreign policy, I think Obama had a much higher difficulty curve (dealing with Iraq and Afghanistan), and I think he has generally done a good job. I think Clinton also did a reasonably good job with foreign policy, and I think Clinton's bail-out of Mexico is one of the more underrated accomplishments of the 20th century. On the other hand, I think that Obama has done a great job of laying out a vision of America's leadership that sees it more as a first among equals rather than a dominating force.

I would go with Obama, as he accomplished a bit more in both foreign and domestic affairs and reversed the financial deregulation of the Clinton period.

In all fairness Bill isn't the first President to have an affair in office- or even the 5th.

Easy win for Obama though

Obama is definitely the better man, but Clinton was a better President by far.

Not a fan of either, however Obama is better as a person, while Clinton was a better President.

Obama.

I'm actually starting to think that Obama is one of the best presidents, but that says more about the other presidents than it does about Obama.
