So based on what I've read on Atlas, Sestak is definitely the best choice for a liberal living in Pennsylvania. However, I know that some people are supporting McGinty. Could someone try to convince me to vote for her, even if you're doing it as a devil's advocate? I'd really like to know what the arguments in favor of her are.

Edit: to be clear I do not actually live in Pennsylvania. Also I would like actual arguments, not reasons why the establishment supports her.

I'm aware of why the DSCC likes her, but I'm wondering if there are any arguments in favor of her besides that.

She's not and would lose by a wide margin. But Fetterman is going nowhere, and the DSCC would rather have Toomey than Sestak.

Nope, none exist

She's not a strong candidate, neither are Sestak and Toomey.

So the DNC just wants someone who will do whatever they want her to do.

She's less of a loose cannon than Sestak, I guess? Treats her staff better? (I've heard Sestak was an extremely hard boss to work for). Also, Sestak is 64 while McGinty is 52, so I suppose if you're swayed by seniority arguments, that might be a factor.

I support Sestak or Fetterman, so I don't really have much of argument for McGinty.

The theoretical argument is that Sestak is a bit of a loose cannon and it's much better to have a risk averse candidate who will run by the book. Sestak is kind of quirky while McGinty is just a generic D.

But the real reason the establishment is supporting her is because they're still butthurt that Sestak beat Specter when they pulled out all the stops for him.

Pa in 2016 isn't 2010, and Sestak only lost by 2. Having a female candidate in a prez year like in NV & NH; perhaps AZ with Hilary gets the base out. Sestak is gonna win this seat, though.

Here's a decent article comparing the three candidates on substantive issues.  They are actually pretty similar on most issues, but they do have some differences on minimum wage policy with Sestak taking a more conservative approach there.  McGinty/Fetterman are a bit more protectionist with regard to TPP whereas Sestak is more open to trade deals, and there are a few other differences.  For some people, it might come down to backgrounds.  McGinty has been involved with Environmental Protection agencies for most of her career and worked in PA executive administrations.  Sestak was an Admiral obviously and a Congressman, and Fetterman is more of a local politics person.

There's definitely good reasons to support any of them, but trying to say there's this huge difference is just silly.

Dem Establishment prefers her because Sestak is unpredictable/doesn't always side with them. McGinty is also more liberal on several issues (i.e. Minimum wage).

Neither have an advantage in terms of ability to beat Toomey, though.
