Trump is doing well in Forest Hills. I knew it. It's a Giuliani area.

Does Forest Hills still have a lot of affluent liberal Jews, or is that perception about 40 years out of date?

From a little digging, it seems to now have a lot of post soviet Bukharan immigrant Jews.

Thanks for these.

Williamsburg and Bushwick both split, and Clinton won LES and the Village handily. Hang your heads in shame, hipsters.

Look at Manhattan. Now look at a race map. Hillary really landslided whites there.

Some white votes are worth more than others.

But they're all worth more than nonwhite votes. Unless they're in Hawaii. I think.

Howard Beach is a conservative enclave. Trump dominated there. Wow. I think one of my friends live there. It's a Giuliani/Trump area for sure. However, they are represented by a Democrat in the State Senate and Congressional level.

Sanders did pretty well in Bedstuy (47.8% in Bedford, 40.8% in Stuyvesant heights) but he was slaughtered in Jamaica.

Very Italian.  Looks like Trump won 80%+ of the GOP vote in Italian areas.

Also the Georgian Jews. These are not quite the same.

If anything the "affluent liberal Jewish" demographic may be more centered in Manhattan than it was in the John Lindsay era, when the Forest Hills and Riverdale outposts would have been larger.

The ex-Soviet non-Ashkenazic Jewish communities are something of their own world. I wish we would know a bit more about what is going on in there.

Sanders did very well with "gentrifiers." Probably the reason why Harlem was not that much of a blowout as well.

Are there still 350 precincts not in? or is that just geographic noise?

Is there any detectable difference between African American and Caribbean voters?  Or are these two communities too integrated into each other at the neighborhood level to really tell?

My guess is probably not: NYC blacks don't seem to vote differently than those in Chicago, Detroit or Cleveland, even if they're as likely if not more likely to trace their ancestry to the Caribbean than the US South.

NYT says it is 60 for Dems and 101 for Reps.

Interesting how Bernie did so well in Sunset Park.  Low Asian registration?

That explains his support in Bushwick too.

Hipsters don't like in Williamsburg anymore, it's mostly ad execs and bankers who pretend to be hipsters.

Hipsters haven't really lived in the Village or the LES for 20 years.

Bushwick, Bernie won the hipster/Hispanic northern part but lost the hipster/Black southern part.

Yeah Williamsburg is so 2006 or whatever.

But more seriously, what exactly distinguishes an "authentic" hipster from the poseurs?
