I did the math, if Hillary nets more delegates tonight which is likely and wins all but RI next week she would only need 100+ delegates to capture the nomination.

It was over March 1, or if you were a real diehard March 15. If you're delusional BernieBro you won't think it's over ever. Even after the election.

He's not stopping until she's at 50.1% of pledged delegates, and maybe not even then. But yeah, it's over.

He's finished until he gets like 65% of vote in, say, West Virginia then he's viable again so long as he wins *state that no one seriously thinks he can win* by a *margin no one seriously thinks he can get*. It's a cycle at this point.

It was over in March. Tonight's win still won't calm down his supporters though.

Cue the accusations of fraud.

He's been finished for a while now. I actually don't think his goal was to win in the first place.

Every state he wins is the "people speaking", every state he loses is "fraud" because "nobody I know has voted for Hillary" -_-

Maybe now the media can finally accept that it's over.  What are they going to do, create a Bernie comeback narrative in Pennsylvania or Rhode Island?  He has to win what percent of the remaining vote now to beat her?  Are we above 60% yet?

Yes and his name will appear on remaining ballots and Clinton is on track to win every primary state remaining.

Yes. It is now more likely that he will win the nomination due to a sudden emergency causing Clinton to withdraw (health, legal, what have you) than that he wins in any democratic or semi-democratic way.

That's not true in the slightest, but I probably shouldn't bother, considering the author of this post.

Anyway, it's been over for a while, tonight just shows that Bernie's coalition, while impressive, isn't enough to win the nomination.

In order to win the nomination - Sanders has to win 59% of the remaining delegates left. This is not in the cards.

Two things need to happen, and not necessarily in the following order:

1.) Bernie needs to demonstrate to his supporters that if he is willing to crawl over broken glass to ensure Hillary wins in November, so should they.

2.) Hillary should select a running-mate to demonstrate her willingness to reunite the party after a long and bruising primary, preferably someone that the more skeptical Sanders supporters can rally around.  And not just for symbolism -she needs to pledge that whoever she selects will have a role as key in her administration as Joe Biden has in Barack Obama's White House.  She has to show that her running-mate won't be just another White House ornament.

No way Bernie gets a majority of the pledged delegates, yet I don't see Hillary getting to a majority of delegates on pledged delegates alone. If something happens with Hillary that causes the superdelegates to force her from the campaign, Bernie will get the nomination, he'll just be too close for anyone else to take her place if she ends up not being able to run for whatever reason.  Not that I think there will be a reason.
