Sapulpa's newspaper refused to even acknowledge Obama as President elect when he won in '08, only reporting that McCain won the county.

Wow, glad you got past that bad patch obviously. As some poster observed awhile back, maybe Mr. Moderate, being gay is the new normal. You have reached the age where you will soon be able to live where you want, and find somewhere congenial to your life style. Might I suggest Hudson?  Smiley

Don't be ridiculous.  He'd rather have the life of a wealthy in let's say Orange County CA, surrounded by lots of brown servants to tend to his every need, and not worrying about life in the real world.

An interesting factoid about Sapulpa that might explain its angry conservative nature:

The city seems to have grown the most during the hardest times for Oklahoma... in the 1930s and 1980s (dust bowl and oil bust, respectively).  So it seems Sapulpa is a settlement of last resort where people go when things go bust.

Like "some college" being the most Republican group of people, Sapulpa is for the washouts of life.

Aww, thanks guys. Smiley

I was expecting someone (probably an Oklahoman) to play devil's advocate here and argue about how I actually would've been better off.

Since no Oklahoman has done it:

You would have been better off, sorry to play devil's advocate
