I sort of think we should keep Jackson.  Obviously, he did some pretty bad things, but Jacksonian Democracy and the expansion of the electorate were very important in creating the United States as a truly democratic nation.

To be fair, they were also very important in the failure of the American project.

Harriet Tubman is a million times better than Andrew Jackson in every conceivable way. Well deserved.

So was the Underground Railroad.

This move honors both of them quite nicely, considering what Jackson thought about paper money anyway.

Perfect choice, both with respect to who comes off and who gets on.

Yes, this is the best choice.

Jackson hated money and the federal banking system, being on the $20 was probably a best-served-cold, banks have the last word insult to him, so it's good to take him off it. And his actions with the Trail of Tears aren't exactly popular.

Harriet Tubman is also the best choice to then put on the $20. Noncontroversial, would be the first woman and the first African-American on there, and she definitely deserves it with her actions. And it's great that it's the $20, because it would be in wide circulation.

I don't think politicians should be on money.

While I have always felt that putting Jackson's face on paper money was a fitting punishment for his sins, this is excellent news. It will be interesting to see who they pick to join Hamilton on the $10 - I hope it's Cady Stanton.

I'd prefer Robin Quivers on the $20.

Shouldn't MLK got the spot on the 20?

I believe they said it would be a woman of color. But MLK is indeed a very good candidate for a spot on currency; why not replace Grant with him?

The new reverse of the $5 bill will include "historic events that occurred at Lincoln Memorial, including performance by opera singer Marian Anderson and 'I Have a Dream' speech by Martin Luther King, Jr."

The new reverse of the $10 bill will depict the "historic march for women's suffrage movement."

As well as what he thought of the central banks.

Good choice.

So... I have 14 years to write a musical that will save Jackson from the axe. Who wants to help me write it?
