I don't like to harp on trivial things, but here is one that actually affects a serious policy.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A White House official who previously worked for the American Petroleum Institute has repeatedly edited government climate reports in a way that downplays links between greenhouse gas emissions and global warming, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

Philip Cooney, chief of staff for the White House Council on Environmental Quality, made changes to descriptions of climate research that had already been approved by government scientists and their supervisors, the newspaper said, citing internal documents.

The White House denied that Cooney had watered down the impact of global warming.

Just another weightless liberal attack on the President and his administration.

What evidence is the story based on?

I seriously doubt the White House's political views are not allowed to affect it's reports, given the past behavior of this administration. They have already showed that the truth is a slippery thing in the White House today.

Wow....

Facts are either hyped or downplayed to match the ideological slant of the political entity presenting a report.

Does this mean... that the Minority Report of a Senate or House committee has....a democratic spin to it....?  and that the Majority report has a GOP spin...?

As the Inspector said in Casablanca....

"..... I am shocked, shocked I say to discover gambling in this establishment!"

I think that the word "scandal" is becoming a bit overused.

I love how Republicans dismiss everything when it comes to the Bush administration. If this was Clinton, they'd be going crazy.

If this was a Democrat, his own party would have turned on him long ago, and he'd not only be impeached, but have 67 Senators vote to remove his ass from office.

I love how I'm the only Republican in this topic to post, yet you use the word Republicans, and how you say we dismiss everything when it comes to Bush, and yet the only one to dismiss anything was a Libertarian.

Granted, but it is rather interesting how Bush as recent as Tuesday have stated we need to look into Global Warming more before making conclusions, but the research has been done, but they choose to edit it.  Another troubling thing to me is how someone who use to work for the American Petrolium Institute has a White House Environmental Job.  Thats a bit of a conflict of interest there.

Who you work for now can be a conflict of interest. Who you used to work for probably can't, at least 90% of the time.
