Bush - 273
Bayh - 265

Bayh is a poor fit for NH, and without Kerry's neighbor state bonus, Bush narrowly keeps it. His Midwestern roots and moderate reputation helps him win OH and IA. IN swings heavy D, but still votes Bush by mid to high single digits. However, Bayh's DINO reputation causes liberal turnout in WI to drop just enough (either by them staying home or voting Nader) that it goes to Bush, and delivers him the win.
