Indications show so far that "A List" candidates (current statewide office holders, members of Congress) are not likely to run against Gov. Baker, so long as he remains at least moderately popular.

Who do you think may emerge as some likely Democratic candidates against Baker for 2018?

I think Baker will be reelected.  Anyway, this doesn't belong here.  This section is for House and Senate races.  It belongs in the Governor/State election me thread.

That is true. And I agree that Baker will probably be reelected, although a lot can happen in two and a half years. I doubt this will be another 1994.

Hopefully Kim Driscoll, so she can stop ruining my city.

I do agree that most "A-list" candidates will not run, because Baker is popular. But I wouldn't be surprised if Rep. Seth Moulton runs, he was pretty vocal in opposing Charlie Baker's position on Syrian refugees, and he would be a strong recruit against Baker. So I think he'll consider it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Moulton stays in the House and waits for a better opportunity to run for Governor (after Baker retires) or wait for a Senate seat to open up, Moulton is still young.

Moulton is the only "A-list" candidate I see running, the rest (such as Maura Healey, for example) will likely decline to run. Then we'll be stuck with a low level, sacrificial lamb candidate who probably loses to Baker. I'll vote for the Democrat regardless, though.

Marty Walsh or Daniel F. Conley seem like the most likely Boston Democratic machine candidates.

I doubt that they are going to even nominate her after losing to Scott Brown and Charlie Baker.
