I like "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson.  I will try to think of some more later.

Love Grows Where my Rosemary Goes by Edison Lighthouse
I Live for the Sun by The Sunrays
Pipeline by The Chantays (I especially love the guitar on the bridge)
Wipe Out by The Surfaris
Venus by Shocking Blue
Black is Black by Los Bravos
Party Doll by Buddy Knox (I think he had several hits, but this is the only one that's remembered much now)
Hey, Baby by Bruce Channel
Hey Paula by Paul & Paula
Mickey by Toni Basil
It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond
Rock & Roll by Gary Glitter (Had a number of hits in the UK, but this is the only one he had in the States)

As you can see, a lot of surf rock bands back in the 60s were one-hit wonders.  If I can think of any more to add to this list, I will include them in a future post.

I think a-ha had another hit with "The Sun Always Shines on TV"

I have never actually seen The Breakfast Club, but I still love that song.

"Alive and Kicking" does play occassionally on the radio, at least in this area, but indeed is dwarfed by "Don't You (Forget About Me)" in number of radio plays by far.

Although I don't know what you really like in terms of movies, I still do recommend it and I hope you'll like it.

Turn Up The Radio by Autograph (an early 80s hair metal guilty pleasure )

I love that one too. Even though I was born in 1987, I think the '80s hair bands have some of best music ever.

Fwiw, I did think of another ('80s, of course): Europe's The Final Countdown

The Final Countdown actually wasn't Europe's only hit. It wasn't even their highest charting song.

The best by far  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK5YGWS5H84

Cher and Lonestar's versions are pretty good, too.

These are a few which came to mind, although The Knack are arguably two-hit wonders and Derek and the Dominos is sort of a special case.

Fastball - The Way
Derek and the Dominos - Layla
The Knack - My Sharona
Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London

Yeah I don't think we can honestly say Derek and the Dominos is a one-hit wonder considering the person behind the entire band continued to make hits for decades thereafter.

When I think of one-hit wonders, I think mostly of the '80s, with maybe a few in the '90s. I looked around sites, like VH1's top 100 list and others. Some of the songs I like:

Blind Melon - No Rain
Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta
Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me) (yes, I like The Breakfast Club)
Ratt - Round and Round

BRTD might be right about some of the '80s bands, because I always thought Loverboy's Working for the Weekend was a one-hit wonder. I would have put it on the list, but apparently it doesn't meet the qualifications. I probably have a few more on my playlist, but I'm not searching right now.

Not a one hit wonder. Probably the only song they play on mainstream radio which has a few hits from back in the day but they have a lot of other popular songs in the hair metal/rock/80s communities.

Not gonna start a thread for it, but all the "Atlas in the year...." threads does remind that the worst one-hit wonder of all time is Zager and Evans "In the Year 2525".  And it did truly go to #1 in the US and Britain.  Horruble.

Naw, even if it was, "Arrested Development" totally redeemed it.

Yeah. I want to say Carly Rae Jepsen had another hit too, but it's hopefully been erased from my memory completely.

Not to mention there are other songs periodically played on classic rock from the album.

And No way in hell re: Zevon.
