To what extent is Sanders' low income support due to college students and college-educated people just starting out in their careers etc.?

It does seem, albeit relying on my memory, that Bernie's performance with lower-income people tends to correlate with stronger youth turnout.

And here's a third match-up - Clinton vs Trump - in case anyone is interested:

Wow this thread is pretty shameful, calling the Sanders campaign racist or sexist (lol) is as sad as calling his campaign "negative". What evidence is there for this idiocy?

This is terrible. Sanders was actually running a sympathetic campaign until march 15th. That was the turning point where his campaign could pick one of two options: campaigning on the issues while realizing that Clinton was the presumptive nominee and thus avoiding actively hurting her for the general OR going scorched earth on Clinton in a desperate attempt to pull off some mathematical miracle. Unfortunately they picked the latter and have real trouble deviating from that plan as his chances become ever more improbable.

I know?! Why don't people appreciate the clean and pure Sanders campaign?? The paragon of virtue and model for the future.

Come on, this was already quite blown out of proportion before your comment.

If you think the Sanders campaign has been any of the above your more of an idiot then I thought you were. Also his favorables continue to be on the positive side while your candidates is in the gutter.

He could be a hell of a lot more aggressive. He is barely attacking her compared to Obama in 2008.

I think there's more to it that that. He tends to do well in low-income white communities.
