Analyzing the ad subjectively: the music was a bit too fast, the Angelou quote isn't exactly a solid premise (because only those really close to Donald actually could have been witness to who he really is), the structure was fine, the mash-up was fine, it didn't hit as hard as it could have psychologically (as Trump ads do).

These things that are said in this ad, are not some minor policy issues that a candidate has flip flopped on ? These things trump is saying and doing (in the ad) are monstrously disgusting, full of hatred towards groups of people !
It's not like he has "flip-flopped" on an issue dealing with taxes, defense spending, social security, etc.

In comparison think of it like this ....
(You and I are strangers, and) I tell you one day, that I want to tie up your son/daughter, torture the person and then kill them. You are shocked (obviously) !
And then the next day, I tell you "I changed my mind, I don't want to really do these things to your son/daughter."
And then you share this story with a close relative or friend, and that individual tells you "Well, it's not like you have never 'flip flopped' on an issue in your life. Don't worry about it. You can still support that person who said those disgusting words to you. Just forget about it."

This is exactly the type of ad that should be played day and night, a couple of weeks before the election in swing states. Individuals who are still not sure how to vote will clearly vote against trump, as they will decide that The Office needs to be filled with someone who is serious, and not a clown or a hater.

Looks like somebody missed the entire point of the ad. Wasn't about "flip-flopping" at all, it was about the idea that if you make horrifying statements repeatedly, there's probably a reasonable chance you actually believe them.
