This may be a tad premature, but if the exits polls from tonight are confirmed with actual results, this race is just about over.  Trump with 60+ in multiple states would be a resounding statement.
So, on to the Cruz dropout rumors...

http://www.21alive.com/news/local/ted-cruz-visit-preview-377059781.html

This article claims that the Ted Cruz campaign says they're not sure if Cruz will visit Fort Wayne, Indiana Wednesday (which would be cancelling a pre-scheduled event).  I find that interesting because Indiana would be a must-win for Cruz after tonight's primaries.

Cruz may try to avoid the same type of situation that Rubio faced in Florida, where all eyes were trained on the state and he needed to win to stay in contention.  When he lost it was hugely embarrassing.

Cruz isn't dropping out before Indiana.

The OP makes a ton of sense, and yet we have some intelligent pro-Cruz folks who as recently as this morning were proclaiming that Cruz will be the nominee.  Perhaps Cruz has promised Hugh Hewitt something (such as a voice on Supreme Court nominees), in exchange for his unwavering support.  How can Hewitt be so confident, when the rest of us think it's a longshot to say the least?

This thread will look awfully silly if/when Cruz wins in Indiana.

Well, what basically happened in the Northeast is that undecideds rushed en masse to trump. If that's because of location, Cruz's campaign in Indiana should be fine. If it's because of chronology, he's ed barring a shift in the conversation over the next week. Which isn't as far-fetched as it sounds, considering the trump University stuff is coming up again and trump is restoring Lewandowski's position as campaign manager.

We'll see what happens.

What's so big about Indiana?  Trump is winning everywhere, and amassing delegates in all areas of the country.  Cruz won a few states here and there, mainly in the central region and west.  Trump won in the northeast, the deep south, the industrial midwest, plus probably California.

Indiana is one of the few "swing states" (for this primary) left, and will play a large role in determining whether Trump gets enough delegates to win on the first ballot. Regardless of what states Trump has won, it's the delegates that matter, and Trump still hasn't locked them up.
