With all those people who changed their registrations to the Democrats in 2006 and 2008, the remaining Republicans are the perfect mix for Trump.

This was the same trend that destroyed Arlen Specter and enabled Pat Toomey to get into the Senate. And Toomey better be careful, for he is out of touch with this base on both trade and to some extent immigration.

My opinions on trade and surveillance seem to be moving farther and farther from what people are clamoring for today.  But, the Democrats are just as liberal on those issues as we are becoming.

The northeast is the only part of America that is real. Noteworthy that Trump wins all 13 colonies! Real America.
Well, I hate to ruin your party but he technically won 12 1/2 because around 1/2 of Massachusetts land mass was the future state of Maine, which Cruz won.

If revoted under Maine's new law, Trump would win 60% of the vote in Maine.

It is not hard to find 8000 votes in any state who will vote for anything and that is basically what Cruz did. If Maine had an actual vote with 200,000 people voting, it would be Trump all the way.

Protectionism is the historically conservative position. That is why they often call Free Trade, Trade liberalization and its supporters are often called neo-liberals. It is rooted in Classical Liberalism but support for it was maintained by Democrats well into the 20th Centry, it was a key component of FDR's policy and JFK's, as well.

I'm not sure about that actually.  I do think Trump would have won, but based on VT and NH with a narrower field, it could have been a 40/34/26 affair.

If held at the time with a primary, it would have been Trump with somewhere in the 40's. Held now though, it would be close to 60%.

God bless New England towns. They make electoral analysis so much better.

Just another sign we are the best part of the country Smiley

I find it ironic that some of the most sensible Republican electorates are voting for the dumbest candidate.
