West Virginia, easily.

Morgantown
Charleston
Wheeling

are all areas I could live in.

Not a gay so less likely to get lynched in Wyoming.  Plus there are actually nice places in Wyoming.  West Virginia is a post-apocalyptic hellscape.

No, there are no nice places in any red states; it is known.

West Virginia seems a little less isolated and has some decent cities like Morgantown, Wheeling, and Martinsburg. (although I'd take WY if it was between that and southern WV)

West Virginia. Closer to home and I have family roots in the state.

Wyoming is geographically spectacular.  No contest.
