Yes, losing a Senate election in California by 10 points really demonstrates what an asset Carleton Sneed will be to the (not going to happen lol) Cruz general election campaign.

Please drop out?

I think Pence is going for Trump, they had that secret meeting.
Dan Coats hasn't endorsed yet, has he?
Could also be Rubio.

If he announces Fiorina as his VP he's a fool.  Halperin pointed out last night that more than anything else, the VP affects the race by acting as a test of judgment for the presidential candidate.  If you seem like you did your homework and picked a strong VP who can succeed you in office, then you're seen as passing the test, while if you fail (McCain, Kerry, Mondale, McGovern) voters start to question your judgment and punish you.  LBJ is the only VP candidate whose ever succeeded in flipping a state, and demographic appeal is minimal.  So if Cruz announces Fiorina as his VP, not only will voters seriously question whether he thinks she's ready to be president, but it's also pretty clear that he didn't take his time to vet her.  It also makes Cruz seem arrogant, as usual -- he picks his VP candidate the day after he's mathematically eliminated from winning?

What about Ed Muskie for Maine in 1968?

I don't think this would be a good move, plain and simple!

Odd, very odd. Other than California being her home state, what's the logic in this? Fiorina is a failed CEO, a failed Senate candidate and a failed presidential candidate.

NRO says Fiorina will be picked. Somehow Cruz's reasoning sounds very similar to another Hail Mary VP pick...

Maybe he's trying to bait Trump into making sexist comments? Bizarre and desperate imo. Do California Repiblicans even care about Sneed?

Can we possibly consolidate all the VP Fiorina/Cruz announcement threads.  I can't keep up with them Smiley.

Cruz is imploding. Who names a vp pick during a primary race when your nearly 500 delegates behind?

And on top of that just got completely wiped out on 5 states.

She would be great at appealing to California, but I don't think she's up for this. She's busy running for re-election to the Senate.

I think if Cruz had won Indiana and then done this it would be a decent move but now it looks well desperate.

Loser picks loser for VP. You are the weakest link, goodbye.

Cruz and Kasich should be statesmen at this point and drop out. They have the same chance of winning the nomination on the first ballot as anyone here on Atlas.

I mean, California does have a 30-40% chance of going Republican, according to top analysts.

Yeah, Fiorina is a horrible VP pick. Adds nothing to the ticket. I'd argue that Darryl Perry picked a better running mate.
