Figured I might give doing my own timeline a shot. I'm starting with the 1896 Presidential election which went down between William McKinley and William Jennings Bryan OTL. I'll post the Democratic nomation first, and then the Republican shortly after.

Candidate with the second most votes will become the running mate to the nominee.

The Democratic party has nominated the ticket of William Jennings Bryan of Nebraska and James B. Weaver of Iowa! It appears the Populist party has initiated a takeover of the old Democratic party. Leading some in the party establishment to consider a third party run in order to maintain normalcy. Only time will tell if they are serious in their threats.
