I disagree with your premises. Authoritarianism under the right person is fine, but that's a gamble. A free democracy doesn't guarantee anything either, and is prone to the kind of corporatist whore corruption we see today. I don't mind not knowing the language. Tough choice. As a masterful opportunist, I choose the authoritarian future.
