The Never Trump people held his feet to the fire, and he capitulated.  It might move the needle toward Cruz a bit, but if the endorsement comes across as tepid, or if he doesn't follow up on it by attending some of Ted's rallies, I doubt it'll make much of a difference.

I'm glad he endorsed, but it could turn out meaning just as much as Haley's endorsement in SC: nothing.

Who? I'm still starstruck from Bobby Knight! Wow - great honor to see such a great man!

Meanwhile, I overheard three guys saying they could never vote for Ted in a general now after his basketball "ring" comments.

Sounds like Walker talked Pence into it.

Rubio got a lot from Haley's endorsement.  He would have done at least 5 points worse, I suspect.  And, at that point in the race, finishing second could be a win.

Really, an endorsement on the Friday before the election? The average person won't think about the race again until Monday. This endorsement needed to be earlier in the week to have the same effect as Walker's.

Yep, just as I suspected: the second most tepid endorsement of Cruz this cycle, next to Lindsey Graham's:

The way he talks in the beginning, you almost think he's going to endorse Trump!  Combined with the fact that he said this on a Friday afternoon, no one will talk about this much.  It's also poor timing that the NFL Draft is occurring right now.  This is going to get buried with talks of the NFL.

This gives me a great idea! Why doesn't Trump trot out Tony Dungy! Strong leader, Great Republican! (Just don't mention Brady!)

Dungy is a Christian. A real one, not a fake one like Trump. Dungy would not endorse Trump.

SC exit polls showed that Haley's endorsement actually meant quite a lot to Rubio. Just not enough for him to win the state.

Pence obviously went out of his way not to anger Trump voters. But the reasons he gave that he was voting for Cruz were pretty strong. If you're of the ideology that his reasons would mean anything to you.

I had always assumed that Dungy was a liberal Democrat, given what he has said about the name Redskins.

He's actually quite conservative.

On the "values" issues, yes.  However, I believe he endorsed Obama twice.  Many AAs are socially conservative but fiscally moderate-to-liberal.

True. Still looking for information regarding that with Dungy.

You can tell Pence is desperate to not alienate any voters he needs for November. Weaksauce.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have the buying power that Scott Walker, Rick Snyder, or John Kasich do.

Pence is more comparable to Rick Scott at this stage in 2014.  Unlike Rick Scott, however, John Gregg is no Charlie Crist.  He's much more politically competent this time and will be a force to be reckoned with come the autumn.  I have a feeling Gregg will NOT be holding back any punches and won't squander opportunities like Crist did.

So Robert Jeffress, Jerry Falwell Jr., and everyone else who has endorsed Trump are "fake Christians?"

I mean, with the exclusivity of some people's views of Christianity, very few people must be true adherents of the religion. And if that is the case, and you believe in hell, that must be a horrific thing to believe in.
