A beautiful side effect of the Trump movement! Stunning story! I hope everyone in this country is inspired to do the same!

Little-Hands-Drumpf-Fuhrer just doesn't get it ... and neither does his supporters.
All of trump's rhetoric is strong in the minds of the people he is attacking and insulting.
And his followers are delusional if they think that by trump simply "changing gears" and no longer talking about it for the general election, that this will just make it magically disappear from the minds of everyone trump's words have affected.

Maybe this is part of BRTD's claim that one can claim allegience to a nationality that one isn't born into.

This is why I am not yet supporting Trump. I regularly criticize Democrats for their hurtful rhetoric against devout Christians and white Americans, but Trump is doing the exact same thing to a lot of innocent non-white people.

Transnational Gangs do what they do because of our porous borders.  Trump isn't the problem.

The rush of Americans to identify as anything except American is an embarrassing denouement to end what was once at least a plausibly great (aka passably acceptable) nation.

In this case, it is precisely due to the fascist that you support.

No, mostly by their kids who were influenced by the ridiculous war on drugs and the violent culture in the underclass of America. Illegals actually commit less crime than the population at large.

I'm thinking every group that Trump has targeted has made them feel more proud of their identity, I know it has made me more proud of mine.

Yeah, I'm sure you would have said that when the English, Germans, and Irish were coming over. Oh wait, no you wouldn't have.
The English were the founding culture of America. The Germans and Irish both assimilated relatively quickly. The same should be expected of every other cultural group, aside from of course Native Americans.

And that is happening with every cultural group in America today, including Hispanics. Many don't even know how to speak Spanish!

A great America is first a good America. Trump would debase America, so he could not make America great, whether for the first time or 'again'.

Why do you guys always assume someone is trying to "remain separate". No one complained when there was a little Italy in every major city. No one complains when Russians or Poles had a separate district in cities. If anything, they were less quick to assimilate than immigrants are today! Come on now.
I do not hold double standards - of all European immigrant groups, the Italians did a terrible job at assimilation and still have work to do. I'm certain that Hispanics, Asians, etc. will assimilate just fine in time, but I don't think Democratic politicians help the process.

Part of the problem is the concentration of ethnic groups into their own communities. The Germans, Irish, Scandinavians, etc. assimilated because they dispersed across the country and intermarried with Americans. Italians stayed on the East Coast and lived in the same communities. You have this situation all over the American Southwest today, and also in places like Edison, NJ.

Derpist, last time I checked, America was a MULTICULTURAL nation...so if I want to identify as ARAB-AMERICAN, PALESTINIAN-AMERICAN or MUSLIM-AMERICAN I can and will.

No one complains when Russians or Poles had a separate district in cities. If anything, they were less quick to assimilate than immigrants are today! Come on now.

I for one have no problem with immigrants that don't want to assimilate. I have nothing against Little Mexicos or Little Italys or Koreatowns. That's because national identity is something much more important than what festivals you have or what foods you eat (American food is also terrible) or in this country, even who/what you worship. There is something greater about loyalty and identity that binds people together as a community.

People only complain about disloyalty. Italian-Americans don't burn American flags and foist Italian flags in protests. Russian-Americans don't do this. Armenian-Americans don't do this. Polish-Americans don't do this. Greek-Americans don't do this. FrenchCanadian-Americans don't do this. Most Arab-Americans don't either. I certainly don't do this. There's no nothing that Poles, Italians, Armenians, Russians, French Canadians, or whatever engage in like the Aztlán movement. Hyphenated Americans can be great. But the modern cohort of aggrieved immigrants are barely hyphenated Americans.

When these people protesting Trump talk about their country, they usually aren't talking about America.
