Sure, all the time. I had to take a lot of stupid classes. I turned in a lot of bad English Comp papers, for example. I usually gave classes related to my major (chemistry) my best effort. I also tried really hard at my math classes. I once got an A on a Calculus 3 test. I had that test stuck on my dorm room fridge for months afterword.

The standards were so low in my 200-level biology class that each student received ten extra-credit points for being less than 10 minutes late to the labs. People still skipped them. I could have failed the final exam and still had a grade over 100%. And I wasn't even a biology major.

I did not pull an especially high GPA (less than 3.3), but I still ended up with a job eventually. My standards are much higher for my work now that I am out of academia.

I'm assuming your talking about college here, but no. Now, what I have done in high school is a BS assignment that the teacher just checks and you get credit for it. I have done that multiple times, but I don't think I've really just guessed and then turned something in that gets checked for accuracy.
There are some really stupid assignments that are for participation in undergraduate, too. College professors, in my experience, are surprisingly lazy.

And how would you know little boy? Do you spend all of your time around an academic department carefully observing the working environment? Have you ever marked any papers yourself? Do you have any idea what an absolute fycking nightmare of a hassle it is?
Yes, I actually taught high school for a while and was a TA for a while as well during graduate school. Grading papers sucks; I'll agree. Dealing with student misbehavior and laziness is worse, though.

But I left academia; I didn't like it. I'm making big boy money now as an actuary who just happens to be a two-time college dropout.

Undergrads are far more lazy. And needy. And whiny. I'm fleeing academia as soon as I finish grad school.
Do it. The "real world" is MUCH better. And yeah, you don't realize that about undergrads until you're a grad student and have to be in classes with undergrads. I'm 10 times happier working as an actuary than I ever was as a student or teacher. There's just a lot less pressure and drama and a lot more money.

High school =/= college.
Way to cut off the rest of my post.
