If we've learned anything about Donald Trump during this campaign, it's that he needs some sort of wake-up call to change his rhetoric and behavior.  For example, his double digit loss in Wisconsin at least tempered his tendency to make ridiculous retweets.  If it's July or August and polls say he's 10 points down nationally against Hillary partly because of his numbers among his own party, he will try to extend olive branches to the conservative movement.  By then, I wonder if it'll be too late, though, especially if he tries to shift to the center on various issues.

"I’m a conservative, but at this point, who cares?"

The quote of the election, right there.  Tongue

It will be the "Church of the Latter Day Trumps" soon, the way he is going.

He is spreading like a religion. Trump has more supporters than Jesus at the moment.

Trump cannot win without Republican unity. If even one tenth of Republican stay home this election cycle, then the Democrats are going to win by a lot.

Trump cannot win without Republican unity. If even one tenth of Republican stay home this election cycle, then the Democrats are going to win by a lot.

Republican unity would rob Trump of an excellent excuse for his loss:
"I would've been President and Made America Hate again, but the Republican establishment stabbed me in the back" is much more soothing to his ego than "Even with the complete backing of the GOP, Trump managed to lose to Hillary Clinton, of all people".

And a loss with such an excuse lets him keep his inflated ego intact, without actually having to do the work of being President.

"I'm gonna show all of my haters love,
This one's for you,
If you acted like me and I was in your shoes,
I'd probably hate on me too."
