Is this an endorsement, or has he just given up on Cruz's chances?

I'm not sure if it counts as an endorsement, but he's been saying pro-Trump things at least since February.

Too late. The GOP is ed with an ice cream cone this year thanks to Il Douche.

Oh well, there's always 2020, or 2024, or 2028, or...... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think Huntsman ever voted Cruz.

^^

I'm pretty sure Huntsman hates Cruz more than he hates Trump.

This may be more of Huntsman's dislike of Romney.

Hyper-wealthy billionaire says people should support other hyper-wealthy billionaire.

Next in the news: dog bites man.

Ugh, shame on Huntsman. Used to kind of like him. Guess Romney was the better one in the end afterall.

Well, Huntsman probably sees the moderate, anti-establishment side of Trump as a positive.

He's wrong because Trump is terrible.

But I wasn't trying to make a statement about whether he's right or wrong. Just trying to ruin people's notions of Nice Sane Moderate Hero Huntsman vs. Evil Crazy Extremist Trump.

I'm confused by why the man who broke into Mandarian during a GOP debate would be attracted to a man who literally wants to start a trade war with China.

The best Republican in 2012 endorses the 2nd best Republican in a field 3x the size in 2016. What's so hard to imagine here? I guess a lot of people here are just very intolerant of Mormons or something...

But Trump's a moderate hero too! That's why the TRUMP/Kasich ticket will make it to 350 EVs or more!

Dude is a straight up opportunist, not to say he isn't a nice or pleasant guy, because he is.

He's most likely saying this so he can become Secretary of State or better yet VP. There is absolutely no reason for him to back Trump other than his tepid comments on campaign finance reform.

They're kind of both terrible, given that Romney tied himself to Trump when he thought Trump's support could help him in 2012, but it is fair to say that at least Romney is moving in the right direction, whereas Huntsman is not.

He's actually "only" worth something like $15M, which is basically your run-of-the-mill member of Congress these days, so nothing to write home about.
