This video furthers the case why Ted Cruz isn't winning people over.

Cruz will come around once Trump secures the nod, his whole "principles over politics" is an act IMO

Atlas "moderates" and Democrats preferring Cruz to Trump is one of the most hilarious things ever.

On policy, I agree that as long as Congress blocks Trump's most outrageous proposals, he would actually be more moderate than Cruz. But policy isn't everything. You have to be able to actually handle the job of being president. Trump would be the governing equivalent of an absentee landlord.

When he pretends to compromise is the act.  He's a "Jihad my way or the highway" kind of guy.

How is preferring a candidate who doesn't openly fan racial tension and divide this country "hilarious"?

And Cruz's anti-gay, Christian extremist, etc. rhetoric isn't divisive to the country?

While Cruz is barely better, he hasn't gone out there and said that most gays are child molesters. That would be the equivalent of what Trump said about Mexicans. Cruz hasn't called for all cross-dressers to be banned from the United States. That's what Trump is advocating regarding muslims. Cruz may come close, but never crosses the line into completely indecent behavior. Trump does it all the time, and the trash that support him gobble it up.

If this election took place 20 years ago, Cruz WOULD be saying those things.  He probably thinks them, but he can't say them in 2016 because saying so is political suicide outside extreme rural areas.

It's not very surprising, actually. Narcissists have a very hard time submitting to others.

As I've said before, this primary is the Iran-Iraq War. You can either support Saddam Hussein (nationalist, secular, flamboyant strongman Trump) or Ayatollah Khomeini (intellectual, ideological scorched-earth fundamentalist Cruz).

Any sane person would pick Saddam Hussein's Iraq over Khomeini's Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yes, that is a very good point. Politicians past and present may have had horrible views or used bigotry for political gain but none have shown the disregard for the rule of law that Trump has shown. That is one of the truly scary things about his nomination.

Ted Cruz is an adulterous, dishonest cheater.  It's no surprise that he would go back on his commitment.

Even if one ignores the ridiculousness of that analogy, it's also not true. No sane person would prefer Iraq over Iran. Especially not if you're Kurdish.

Cruz is a 'principled' candidate.

He has defined his position strongly and really endured one of the toughest political opponents of the last 50 years.

You have to admire any politician who sticks to their guns. They make it pretty easy for voters to understand.

If you dont like his principles, dont vote for him.

Trump's policies are simple and more populist. He runs on a defensive nationalism principle.

As for Hillary.....well.....

I agree, almost as hilarious as "moderates" and "independents" embracing Trump.

This.

Cruz is a just a terribly unlikable person, regardless of policies.

And this.

Cruz has far right politics, and has shown an inability to compromise. There's no working with him. At least Trump understands the mechanisms of making a deal work.

Cruz doesn't have principles, so yes, he will back Trump in the general election.
