Red: Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton states
Blue: Gerald Ford, Bernie Sanders states
Green: Jimmy Carter, Bernie Sanders or Gerald Ford, Hillary Clinton states
Gray: Didn't vote yet

Unfortunately, I can't use five colors, so I can't split Jimmy Carter, Bernie Sanders and Gerald Ford, Hillary Clinton states. After the end of the primaries, I will draw a complete map

We can see that Hillary Clinton won lots of Carter's states and Bernie Sanders won lots of Ford's states

True! That even applies to the city and county level in MI. In 1976, Carter won 46.4% statewide, 45.6% in Washtenaw, 46.9% in Macomb, 60.1% in Wayne, and 74.3% in Detroit. Clinton's 2016 percentages in all the above counties/cities were similar.
