Yeah, the ~6 point gap in favorability rating (percent favorable, not net) probably mirrors what the margin would be were the election to be held today (a bit optimistic for Trump, but still plausible).

How sad is it that people are bragging that their historically unpopular candidate is less grossly unpopular than the other historically unpopular guy.

God help us all.

Holy **** 70-30 unfavorables? And he's the pubbie nominee?

That means that among his own party he has 30-15 split, and is losing a third of republicans.

Clinton's going to be well on her way to her old numbers after getting endorsements from Sanders and Obama - I don't see Trump fixing his sh**t anytime soon.

And it's not like he's going to get endorsements from either of the living Republican presidents after he ripped out Jeb's entrails on national television.

Clinton's favorables should rise to the mid 40s as the primaries die down, and close to even by the convention. I don't see Trump ever getting higher than low/mid 40s at best.

Yeah, Clinton will definitely get a bounce from officially winning the nomination, as well as the DNC. I wouldn't be surprised if some Independents start to view her a bit more favorably, especially once she's held up side-by-side next to Trump.

Don't be salty. By 2016 standards, she is adored. Wink

Well almost every election is an election of whom do you hate the least. This time it is probably just starts with an even lower average. Clinton is the lesser evil this time around and she will easily win.

She definitely starts out being favored, and many may consider her the lesser of two evils, but as to the notion that she will win easily? Sorry, it's gonna get ugly really fast, and mark my words, there's not gonna be anything "easy" about it.

That chart really says it all. He's hovered at 65-70 since August. It's a core of something like 20 percent of the overall electorate pushing him through. Bit of an interesting puzzle that, having a toxic nominee.

Trump has just avoided the mess of a contested convention which Clinton hasn't (solely due to Sanders being a stubborn a**hole). Trumps numbers will almost certainly go up as the republicans come to terms with the idea that he is their candidate. Clintons numbers still depend on how Sanders deals with losing, so far he has not impressed in this department.

If it helps you get a stronger grip on reality, then its a good thing.

Why are all the democrats on the forum having anxiety about Trump?

The same reason why people worry about an asteroid passing by the earth, though at a reasonable distance. There's no serious concern, but the event is somewhat concerning.

Hillary should pick a respectable military leader as VP. Really play up the "adult in the room" card because people hate her personally.

Perhaps Joe McCarthy was more popular than Atilla the Hun as well, if you get my drift.
