I guess that abstinence=preventing a life from appearing so maybe we should all be...well...doing what BRTD does...

actually, there was an article in one of the free papers yesterday (I forget which one) about an organization for asexuals in the city.  it was interesting.  I have only met one bona-fide asexual in my life.  his name is bill, and he was a very nice, but neither straight nor gay, man.  apparently there are many others.  Here is a link to one organization so you can hook you up with other asexuals.  (Just so you don't think that abstinence is necessarily a choice.)

ah, here it is.  not in one of the free papers, but in one of the real ones:

Yes, I think everybody should be forced to have sex. Every day. With me.
Well, every beautiful female between 16 and 33, anyways.
Well, not really. Smiley

Enough people will still have sex so abstinence is not a problem.

Abstinence is an anti-lie policy.

no, just incredibly insensitive, as it assumes abstinence/asexuality is a choice.

Hey guys, you don't get this. Why does life have to start at the end of the first trimester/conception/whenever? Why not when the parents first exist? By abstaining you're killing MILLIONS of kids!!!

If this was your point in the beginning, it's pretty easily refuted:

The distinction that is being made is one between something that causes an event to eventually occur and one that directly sets it in action; that is, when intercourse occurs, the process of life creation is already set into motion. Prior to intercourse, at the time of abstaining, the process has not set into motion - just the process that leads to that process.

This is actually something I thought about extensively a few years ago, and that's pretty much what I ended up coming up with. You have to draw a law somewhere.

Well, some wingnuts want to ban condoms and everything...and I told this to a friend at school (he's a hardcore Christian who goes to Sunday school) and he said that's why Jesus died for us... Cheesy
