There will now always be someone trying to be "the next Donald Trump" from now on, or compared to it by the media, whether we like it or not.

Trump could run again in 2020 like Perot did in 1996. He could create a new populist conservative third party.

I think a trump-like candidate probably will run in a future cycle. However I don't think they will experience   the same success Trump has had in the Primary.

Do we have people running to be the next Barry Goldwater? No?

Goldwater has been credited as bringing about the entire Republican orthodoxy that existed until Trump crashed to party.

Someone will try, but that person will go absolutely nowhere.  Trump was a one-time phenomenon because of his unique persona.

I imagine Christie could run and try to win over Trump's supporters, but it wouldn't work very well. Other than that, I have no idea, except that Trump himself will not run again. Voting option 3.

Sure. The whole Republican establishment of present day is more conservative then Barry. And 90+% of it's congressional, gubernatorial and state legislative candidates...

Someone will try, but he/she will not be exactly the same as him.
