I'm sure that Democrats voted for Trump in my primary cause Indiana is an open primary state. I may fight to get that dealt with via proposing going to a closed primary/caucus

Every state should have a closed caucus.  Party ID makes it so people don't have to be super educated about the candidates in November, but people should get to hear pitches from the candidates' campaigns before voting in a primary where they may not know much about each choice.

A write in for a Presidential candidate is pointless because the vote is really for a slate of electors, not the candidate. Write in candidates can't get electors.

Most states allow "certified write-in candidacies", i.e. ones that failed to qualify for the ballot because of too few signatures or filing too late, but who has a slate of electors and will have their votes counted. The only difference between such a candidate and one who qualifies for the ballot is that they won't be listed and voters have to take the initiative to write them in.
